Registration - Register online through a link on our website, www.siusoccer.com. Fees, age groups and qualifying birth dates are shown below. If you are a resident of another state, you must register with your home state to get permission to play in Indiana. Our Registrar will coordinate with the appropriate agencies when you indicate your state of residence on our Registration Form. More information can be found in our Policies and Procedures manual.
Team Selection - There are no tryouts. The seasonal year is from fall to spring just like school. Players and coaches are assigned to teams in the fall. In the spring, players will stay on the same team provided the coach returns and the player registers on time. All vacancies will be filled by newcomers at random by the Registrar. Children of coaches and Asst. Coaches will be placed with their parents.

* Rec Plus teams are required to travel since most away games are in Kentucky.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE REGISTRAR AND THE VP OF THE SIU RECREATIONAL DIVISION.
A multi-player family discount of $5 (Rec) is given for additional siblings playing with SIU. Partial grants are available to players based on need. Parents in need of financial assistance must complete the Work-Play Grant Request Form and submit it to the VP-Recreational Division for approval. Application shall be made each season (Fall and Spring). SIU expects grant players and parents to help team managers and coaches, line fields, or volunteer for other tasks to help the club.
Practices/Games - The U5 and U6 age groups combine practice and a game in one session. Practice is from 6-6:30 p.m. and the game is from 6:30 –7:00 p.m. Coaches schedule practices for teams in the U7 and higher age groups. As a guideline, we suggest 1 practice a week for U7-U8, and 1-2 practices a week for U9 and older (at the coach's discretion). Most games for U7 through U10 are played on Saturdays. Field locations will be announced prior to the season. Games for U12 and higher age groups are on local fields, and at "away" locations in surrounding counties in Indiana and Kentucky. Each team is scheduled to play eight games during each season. The seasons run from about early March to Memorial Day in the spring, and late August to Halloween in the fall.
Coaching - SIU Recreational Division registers approximately 400-600 children each season and we rely completely on volunteer coaches. We will create as many teams as possible based on the number of coaches and fields available. It’s a great, no pressure opportunity to have fun with kids in your community.
Coaching Clinic - There is a free, mandatory clinic for coaches who have not previously completed the IYS Youth Module I training. The clinic covers age appropriate instructional activities, techniques, risk management, league guidelines and general information. Representatives of the both Indiana Soccer and SIU provide expert instruction and attendees are credited for completion of the Youth Module I training program. The place, date & time of the clinic is announced near the end of the registration period.
Volunteers - SIU is run exclusively by volunteers (except that Select Coaches are paid). The club’s success depends on adult participation. Listed below are some positions where you can volunteer to help. Please contact our Volunteer Commissioner or any Board member (contact info on our website) with your interest in any of these or other areas. In order to ensure the safety of the players in this club, all adult volunteers must submit to a confidential background check by Indiana Soccer. Instructions will be sent to all volunteers as soon as registration ends. Background checks must be submitted before the season begins.
