SIU is bringing TOPSoccer to New Albany. TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training program for all athletes with intellectual, emotional, and or physical disabilities. The program strives to provide soccer opportunities (the opportunity of soccer) for players to develop at their own pace in a safe, fun, and supportive/inclusive environment. There are thousands of children with disabilities who need, and can be provided with, the opportunity to play soccer through the TOPSoccer program. Trained "buddies" and coaches help the athletes during the sessions. Players should be 5-18 years old. Buddies do not need to play soccer but should be 12 years of age or older.
Program dates: July 14 th , 28th and August 4th .
Location: Silver Street Park, New Albany, IN
Equipment: Bring tennis shoes, socks, shin guards, and water
Buddy training will be offered from 5-6pm on July 14 th prior to the first session.
If you would like to register your child or you would like to be a "buddy" for this program, please email Billy Seymour, SIU TOPSoccer Coordinator - firstname.lastname@example.org. Medical forms and other application forms are required by the State of Indiana and will be provided by the coordinator upon registration.
