Develop motor skills, a foundation for soccer, a sound character & having fun

SIU has partnered with NA Parks again this fall to host another session of the NA Parks/SIU Grassroots Program.   This program is open to any recreational player, birth year 2014-2008 (6U-12U) who would like to participate.  Participants do not have to be currently registered with SIU to participate in this program.

The purpose of this program is to provide an environment that gives the player the motor skills for all sports, the foundations for playing soccer, developing a sound character, and having fun.   All training sessions will use game-related activities to enhance player development.

All training sessions will use game-related activities to enhance player development.   In using a game-related methodology for instruction, the goal for all players will be to develop motor skills and ball mastery to move the ball forward, create scoring chances, score goals, prevent the opponent from moving the ball forward, regain possession, denying the opponent scoring opportunities, and prevent the opponent from scoring goals.

Session dates are: November 3, 10, 17, and 24, and December 1 at Silver Street Park (indoor), New Albany.   At this time all age groups will train from 4-5pm.   Times may be adjusted depending on enrollment.

Program fee is $25.00 (includes all five sessions).
