FALL TRYOUTS FOR THE SPRING 2019 HIGH SCHOOL SEASON
Additional tryouts for the Spring 2019 season will be held for the 15U-19U age group (birth year 2000-2004) on November 3, 2018 on the outdoor field at Silver Street Park in New Albany. Boys will tryout from 10am-12pm and girls will tryout from 1-3pm.
If you already made a team as a result of the June 2108 tryouts, please still plan to participate in the fall tryouts. Final rosters for all teams need to be completed by November 4th so the club can meet state deadlines for league registration.
PLEASE NOTE: You must tryout with your birth year team unless otherwise approved by the VP Select and the Director of Coaching. If you cannot attend tryouts, please email Natalie Thurston, VP Select, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Registration for Tryouts
Players should pre-register for tryouts online through the link below (available when registration is open). The registration fee is $10.00, which covers the cost of the tryout shirt and other administrative costs. Players who already made a team do not need to register. Onsite registration will be available but will add significant time to your check-in process. Checks and cash payments only will be accepted on the day of tryouts. All checks and cash payments should be brought to the field on the day of tryouts, please do not mail these payments to SIU.
SIU coaches will select the best players for each team. Players will be placed on teams at their age level based primarily on their soccer skills. Moving players from one team to another or playing up in age will be viewed as an exception to the rule. Any player placement issues should be addressed with the VP Select and the Director of Coaching. Once players have accepted a position, they are committed to SIU for the seasonal year (Fall and Spring for full year players). Those who do not make a team are encouraged to play Recreational or Recreational-plus soccer with SIU and try out again next year.
Coaches will contact players who made a team by Sunday, November 4th.
Club Player Registration
Once a player has accepted a team position, the player must register in GotSoccer quickly via the Select registration link (available for a short time only after tryouts) on the SIU home page at www.siusoccer.com. This is a TIME SENSITIVE LINK. Very specific deadlines will be posted based on the team's ISL division level.
Players must upload a copy of their birth certificate (documents tab) and a head shot photo (shoulders and up, like a driver's license photo). These two state REQUIRED items must be uploaded to complete the player registration. No other size photo will be accepted. When registering, make sure all information is entered correctly. Player cards for games are generated through GotSoccer so be sure the player's name and all information is correct. Player registration is complete once a player completes all the required registration items and pays the initial registration fee.
For Kentucky residents only: You will need to complete KY paperwork in order to be rostered to an Indiana team (http://www.kysoccer.net).
For questions about registration and documentation requirements, please contact Jennifer McFarland Kern, SIU Registrar, at Sky9RN@yahoo.com.
Spring 2019 fees for 15U-19U players are $500 plus $100 for the uniform. The initial deposit of $300 is due when registering. All initial registration payments made by check should be mailed right away and are due no later than December 1, 2019. You may pay club fees by credit card in GotSoccer or by check payable to SIU and mailed to P.O. Box 3233, Clarksville, IN 47129. All balances for the spring 2019 season are due by February 1, 2019.
By committing to an SIU team, you agree to pay all fees in full by the due date. Fees not paid by the due date will incur a late fee of $20 and players will become ineligible to pay until billing accounts are settled.
All players will purchase new uniforms for the 18/19 season. New uniforms are purchased every two years in even years.
See our Fee Schedule for more information about Select Travel player fees.
Beginning the Season
You will need to provide the following to your Team Manager once practices begin:
1. Notarized Medical Release (notarized with a raised seal); we need a new Medical Release Form every year. This release is on the registration form that you will print when you register. It is the last step of your online registration thru GotSoccer.
2. Copy of player birth certificate that we can keep. This is in addition to the birth certificate that you uploaded in GotSoccer.
Both forms (medical release and birth certificate) are checked by the tournament officials the night before a tournament begins. Player cards are checked by the referees at the beginning of EVERY match, whether it be league play or tournament play. Every player must have a player card. All player cards are the property of SIU and shall remain with the Team Manager at all times.
